TED is a non-profit organization devoted to Ideas Worth Spreading. It started out in 1984 as a conference bringing together people from three worlds- Technology, Entertainment and Design.

Success

Since then its scope has become ever broader. Along with two annual conferences - the TED Conference in Long Beach and Palm Springs each spring, and the TED Global Conference in Edinburgh UK each summer.

TED includes the award-winning TED Talks video site, the Open Translation Project and TED Conversations, the inspiring TED Fellows and TEDx programs, and the annual TED Prize.

TEDx

An expansion of the basic idea.

In the spirit of ideas worth spreading, TEDx is a program of local, self-organized events that bring people together to share a TED-like experience. At a TEDx event, TEDTalks video and live speakers combine to spark deep discussion and connection in a small group. These local, self-organized events are branded TEDx, where x = independently organized TED event. The TED Conference provides general guidance for the TEDx program, but individual TEDx events are self-organized. (Subject to certain rules and regulations.)

McPherson University is a distinct and vision-driven, leaders-producing Institution that is highly committed to providing a world class education to students from various tribes and races in Nigeria and beyond. Established in 2012, McU is fast taking shape as the hub of intellectual activities. The institution is known for academic discipline, moral probity and its competitive edge which is revolutionizing the Nigerian education. Their watchword is raising balanced “Champions” who will lead and bring the desired change.

This is where ideas originating from our brain and feelings from our hearts appear to meet and revolutionise the sense of existence. We, at TEDxMcpherson U, intend to suffuse these ideas to each and every cell that builds you, instil your blood with power of innovation so that one can be the change one wants to instigate in the society. We welcome each and every one who would like to be a part of advanced, original and unorthodox talks by the prominent speakers, talks that would surely turn out to trigger the contact between your brain and heart.
